Predators Softball is a new accelerated fastpitch softball team that we started to help give our girls more opportunities to play softball at a higher level. I decided that if we are to play at a competitive level that we should look the part. The day after we finalized the decision to build the team I spent a few hours designing the team logo.


Although this is girls softball, I wanted to go for a fierce look and I think I accomplished my purpose. Now my main concern is that I get the girls ready to play at the next level. It would be pretty embarrassing to march out on the field with a logo like this and then have other team have their way with us :). So we have started some light practices over the winter and we will hit it hard come spring. We have some great talent on the team and I think this should be a really fun adventure.

Fundraising

Accelerated teams cost a fair amount of money to run. The costs include:

• Uniforms
• Practice equipment
• League and tournament costs
• Insurance

When I hear the word fundraiser, I almost start to itch all over. I've never been a big fan of fundraisers. That being said, it is important to raise money for the team so that the girls have the opportunity to play. We racked our brains trying to come up with ideas for fundraising. I wanted to stay away from selling candy bars etc.

After much thought and deliberation, I started a new business, Predator Sports. Predator Sports is an online retailer of sporting goods. The purpose of the site is first and foremost to raise money for our softball team. 100% of the profits made on the site will be used to  pay for team expenses until all team expenses have been paid.

It's been a little difficult getting products to sell, but after a bit of persistence, I've found a few really good wholesalers to work with. We already have several thousand products available for purchase on the site, and the number keeps growing.
